GRETB in conjunction with FIT are now recruiting for the new ICT Apprenticeship programme. The programme adopts a learning-by-doing format of ICT skills development.
What is the ICT Apprenticeship?
The ICT Associate Apprenticeship is the new National Apprenticeship for all tech enthusiasts wishing to pursue a career in Irelands IT buoyant IT sector.
How does the training work?
Tech companies recruit apprentices on a 2 year Apprenticeship programme in Software Development, Network Engineering or Cybersecurity.
Apprentices will spend the first 6 months in full-time training, the next 12 months working with their employer for 3 days per week with 2 days on college day-release and the final 6 months working with their employer 4 days per week with 1 day in college finalising their certification.
What are the entry requirements?
FIT accepts a number of different entry routes to the ICT Associate Professional Apprentice Programmes depending on your own individual background. Applicants must be 18 years or older with the eligibility to work and live in Ireland.
What qualifications do you get?
The programme leads to a level 6 QQI Advance Certificate in Network Engineering (Computer Networking) or Software Development (Computer Programming) or Cybersecurity.
