"I did the Sports and Recreation Course with the GRETB. It was a brilliant course run by easy going tutors, they were really nice people which made the course even better. The modules were very interesting and I received 4 distinctions and 4 merits. I carried out my work experience in Galway Kickboxing Club Westside which I loved. I am now working in a new gym in Briarhill - Fitness 35. It`s a new and futuristic gym and I love working there. I would never have gotten the opportunity to work there if I did not do that course with the GRETB."

"When I left school I went in search of a Welding career. Not knowing any information on how to get started I went to the GRETB Training Centre in Galway. They were very helpful in putting me on the right path, they enrolled me in a number of welding courses to better my skills. The training was very up to date and helped with any questions I had. I am now working in a full time job having completed an Apprenticeship in Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting. I would recommend any one who wanted to better their skills and education to start here in the GRETB Training Centre."

"Over a 2-year period I enrolled in three I.T. Courses that were run by GRETB ?CompTIA A+ to begin with then I progressed to CompTIA Network + and finally CCNA. The courses were run by excellent tutors who were very well educated and were very good at making the courses easy to follow. In that time, I gained valuable knowledge and was able to put this to use within the weekly workshops as part of the Blended Learning Option. Since doing the courses I acquired the certification and confidence to pursue work in the Information Technology sector and am currently employed by PFH Technology group. If it was not for GRETB Training Centre this would not have happened and I highly recommend GRETB to anybody looking for a new career and employment."
- IT Technician (March 2016)
"I worked in the construction sector for over 25 years and was made redundant in 2010. I was unable to find employment in that sector and so I decided to transfer to the IT sector. I was able to take advantage of the training offered by FAS at that time (now the GRETB Training Centre), initially in web development skills and then further education and training in database development. Database training was provided as part of the MySQL and PHP course offered by the GRETB Training Centre. The course was intensive and well structured. Each of the course tutors were recognised industry practitioners and experts. My student colleagues and I benefitted from the very high quality support provided by the tutors. The team at the GRETB was equally supportive of the course participants in facilitating enrolment and completion. I successfully completed the course in October 2013 and achieved formal Oracle Certification in MySQL Database Development. Potential employers really focused on the qualification at interviews and I secured employment in early 2014 providing database analysis, design and support input for a global workforce optimization tool within a large multinational corporation. The qualification was a key element in securing my employment."
- IT Sector (February 2016)
"The GRETB provided me with excellent training, in software development and computer literacy. After successfully completing two software development courses (Java Programmer and MySQL/php), I am now self employed within the IT sector and now managing my own software development company based here in Galway (Appro), employing individuals that have also come through the GRETB Training Centre."

I can’t express how pleased I was with the efforts of all at GRETB to get the Car Maintenance course for Deaf men up and running. The positive response from the Deaf men, made it all worthwhile though.
This is the first course for Deaf men organised by GRETB in the West. I don’t know of a similar course anywhere in the country, and our organisation is nationwide.
Donal Walsh the Community Education Facilitator was so helpful in planning the course tutor and organising the interpreter. The tutor, was so keen to get the course right, that in a prep meeting, he had sought, he listening to my suggestions and took everything on board, form the room layout to how to pitch the content and work with an interpreter. The Deaf lads enthusiasm really was heartening. They arrived early, each week; a full class. This group they keep up and used it to keep in contact over Christmas period. The course has put together an important source of support for these men, themselves, as Deaf peers .
The lads were full of praise for Arthur the tutor .On the nights I went to check in, it was clear how comfortable he made them feel, he pitched the content perfectly. The learning the lads have gotten has got them so geared up to continue in more courses. Huge thanks to GRETB ,
